Tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica (TO) is among the most misunderstood disorders in pulmonology. TO is rare disease of unknown origin characterized by the deposit of osteocartilaginous tissue in the submucosa of  larynx, trachea, and bronchi leading to narrowing of the airway lumen. In the present study, we retrospectively analyzed the incidence, clinical presentation, diagnosis of TO in our patient population. From 1993 to 2002, 7351 flexible bronchoscopies were performed in our clinic. In 16 patients, TO was diagnosed incidentally. There were no typical signs or symptoms to TO. Bronchoscopic visualization of tracheobronchial tree is most important diagnostic test that can diagnose TO.
