SOLAR ACTIVITY AND INCIDENCE OF TUBERCULOSIS

The objective of this research is to establish, whether there is a connection between the sickness rate related to tuberculosis and variation in periodic solar activity, for the period from 1954 to 2004 in Šiauliai city, Radviliškis region and from 1990 to 2004 in all Lithuania. Variation of diagnosed cases of tuberculosis and its connection to solar activity was estimated according to correlation coefficient. It was confirmed weak reverse correlation (0,371) between the solar activity and incidence of tuberculosis in Lithuania.
