As the life expectancy increases in CF patients, poor skeletal health could add to morbidity in early adulthood. An increased awareness of this possible problem by paediatric and adult CF care workers should help minimize skeletal manifestations in the future. This article is devoted to overview of frequency skeletal manifestations in patients with cystic fibrosis. Authors discuss main causes and pathogenetic mechanisms, clinical signs and modern diagnostic methods of osteoporosis and others skeletal manifestations as kyphosis, „clubbing”, bone fractures, hypertrophic pulmonary osteoarthropathy and episodic arthritis and presents approach to the prevention and treatment of skeletal manifestations in patients with CF.
