Organizing pneumonia (OP) is defined histopathologically by excessive proliferation of granulation tissue within small airways and alveolar ducts, associated with chronic inflammation in the surrounding alveoli. OP is a nonspecific manifestation of lung injury localized to the peribronchiolar parenchyma. The aim of the study was to evaluate predispose factors, clinical and radiological features of OP. The data obtained from the case records of all 24 patients who had OP since 1998 to 2007 at the Centre of Pulmonology and Allergology of Vilnius University Hospital Santariškių klinikos (Vilnius, Lithuania) were examined. Predispose factor was not verified in most of the cases. Most of the known predispose (associated) factors were neoplasm and infection. In most of the cases OP manifested as single lung infiltration or mass, less frequent – as multiple mass or nodules. Treatment with oral corticosteroids was effective. No relapses occurred.
